Healing

The wound is sore and open wide,
Revealing wrenching pain inside.

The wound is sore and open wide,
Revealing wrenching pain inside.
’Tis so the healing process starts,
When God binds up our broken hearts.

The hungry are the ones he feeds,
He bandages the heart that bleeds.
The weary only find his rest,
The poor are they who most are blessed.

And those who cry are whom he hears
So don’t suppress those burning tears,
Nor be afraid of what you feel
There must be pain for him to heal.

His strength is given to the weak,
His light when all is dark and bleak,
His comfort to the ones who mourn,
Reward to those enduring scorn.

The simple are the ones made wise,
And humble souls receive the prize,
So don’t despise the strain you feel
It’s weakness felt that God can heal.
