Hiding From The Truth

To live out your life in delusion,
And hide from the truth and the facts;

To live out your life in delusion,
And hide from the truth and the facts;
While seeming to lessen your sorrow,
Your sorrow it only protracts.

To build on a shaky foundation,
Convincing yourself that it’s sound,
Can’t give you the safety you’re seeking
Where fulness of joy can abound.

You build, but you’re building on rubbish
That makes all your work insecure.
The false cries of peace that you covet
Can’t give you the strength to endure.

The smooth and the positive message
That comforts and tickles your ears
Can’t bring to your heart needed healing
Or cancel your deep inner fears.

Root out andpull down to the bottom
The fabric of lies you believe,
Beginning your labor all over,
With truth in the warp and the weave.
