I Know What I Want

This time when I pray I know just what I want,
And nothing You say could my confidence daunt,

This time when I pray I know just what I want,
And nothing You say could my confidence daunt,
For my cup You have promised to fill.
My case I now plead, with my mouth open wide,
And all that I need I am sure You’ll provide,
For I ask in accord with Your will.

My burning request with thanksgiving I make;
In peace I then rest, for Your honor’s at stake,
And You’ve promised to hear when I call.
As giver of every good gift from above,
And author of everything tasting of love,
I believe You will give me it all.

I hope in Your name, and I patiently wait.
No merit I claim, but my need plainly state,
With my eyes looking up unto You.
I’ve nothing to fear, for You lighten my way.
I know You will hear and give strength for the day,
For the word of Your promise is true.
