For years I have professed his name,
But over and over brought him shame.
So many times I stumble and fall,
Forgetting just who is, my All in All.
I can’t seem to walk no matter how I try,
I fall on my knees and then I cry,
“God, I’ve been to you a million times o’er,
I wonder, can you forgive once more?”

But he always answers me,
Looking down so lovingly,
“It dooesnt matter where you’ve been,
I will take your hand again.
I’m not ashamed to walk with you,
I have washed you, made you new.”

In faithlessness, I walk away,
Tired, worn, forgetting to pray.
Bitternesss takes hold of my heart,
I see my life is falling apart,
Ashamed, I think of Christ my king,
I remember the praises I used to sing,
“God, I’ve been to you a million times o’er,
I wonder can you forgive once more?”

But he always answers me,
Looking down so lovingly,
“It dooesnt matter where you’ve been,
I will take your hand again.
I’m not ashamed to walk with you,
I have washed you, made you new”

I’ve walked the road of darkest sin,
Sometimes the devil thought he’d win.
I’ve been where no child of God should be,
And walked by the arms reaching out to me,
I’ve covered my face, and turned in shame,
How could I give my God this name?
And then I’ve wondered “God, could you,
Love me though sinful through and through?”

But he always answers me,
Looking down so lovingly,
“It dooesnt matter where you’ve been,
I will take your hand again.
I’m not ashamed to walk with you,
I have washed you, made you new.
