Where is Elijah’s God of might,
And where his miracles of old?

Where is Elijah’s God of might,
And where his miracles of old?
The world is sunk in deepest night;
The church of God is weak and cold.
But God is still the mighty Lord;
He changeth not, the Scripture saith.
Ye saints, unite with one accord,
    And try the force of faith.

The witness of the Lord is weak;
The remnant of the Lord is small;
Few stir themselves their God to seek;
The fire from heaven doesn’t fall.
Your old, neglected altars find,
And sigh, and cry, and wrestle there.
Ye saints, unite with common mind,
    And try the force of prayer.

The father yearns, the angels weep,
While sons of men to ruin fall.
Oh, church of God, your brothers keep,
And love as self your neighbors all.
The vilest wretch may yet be won,
To shine as light in realms above.
Ye saints, unite your hearts as one,
    And try the force of love.
