GOD IS JEALOUS OF OUR GODS! - Chapel Chat

     Almighty God, who created us and desires fellowship with us, is angry and jealous when we create gods of our own making that we adore, magnify and devote our time to. How often during the day am I seeking God’s counsel, giving Him thanks, showing my love and declaring His love?
     The chosen nation of Israel had specific instructions on how to worship their miracle working, loving, providential God. They soon forgot Him and worshipped gods they could see. “They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods; with abominations they provoked Him to anger. They sacrificed to demons, not to God,–.  And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faith. They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God; they have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols—. For a fire is kindled by my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell;”  Deuteronomy  32:16-22  “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Deut. 4:24
     Our loving, gracious, merciful God is also a God of justice; and when we disown and dishonor Him and/or His Son, we become subject to the judgment of hell.  
     Our kind, compassionate God is always willing to forgive when we come to him in repentance, acknowledging that He is God. Heb. 11:6 He has paid the price for our sin and worthy of our utmost worship.
