IS EVERLASTING TORMENT IN HELL FOR REAL? - Chapel Chat

First we need to define some words and then see what the scripture says. Hades in the NT and Sheol in the OT define the state of the Spirit after physical death. Lazarus and the rich man, in Luke 16, are the examples.
Hell or “the lake of fire” is the final judgment place for all wicked, unbelievers. All the unbelievers in Hades will be cast into Hell at the Great White Throne judgment. Revelation 20:11-15. Satan and his cronies are the examples in Rev. 20:10.”The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet [are]. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” The KJ uses the word hell for both places.
Christ described hell in Mark 9:43-44, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched–where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.” The everlasting judgment of God is absolutely right against those who reject the ultimate sacrifice of the Son of God for the offense of their sin.
God gives us a chance to choose while on this earth, whether we spend eternity in love with Him or with Satan and his cronies in the eternal lake of fire, hell, forever. Seek the truth and believe it now.
