My Protection

Why did you not heed My call, precious wand’rer,
There where you walk ‘neath the judgment of sin?
Time and again oft My voice has been calling
You to repentance your soul would I win.

But you have left My protection foolhardy
You who were once ‘neath My sheltering wing.
See how the elements rage in their fury.
I would My fallen one you to Me bring.

You who are fearful and quivering in torment
Who still despite My concern and My care
Fear the fierce anger that men are inflicting,
Rest in the knowledge that I’m always there

There to sustain and  to nourish, to cherish;
There to stir up when I want you to fly;
There to encourage as feebly you flutter;
There to bear heavenwards, child, when you die.
