STOUTHEARTED - Louis Gervais

STOUTHEARTED

– 3 Vids Hello and greetings in the Name of the Son of Him Who Makes us Bold and Stouthearted, Jesus Christ! “When I called, You answered me; You made me bold and stouthearted.” –Psalm138:3 We all need encouragement and added strength at times and it’s wonderful to know that those things can be found in the God we serve and in His Word. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” –Isaiah 26:3 KJV Bold. Boldness can be a bluff or used for evil but if our boldness comes from Who God is and what His will is , if our zeal stems from our longing to see the glory due Him come to Him to Whom all glory is due, then it is not an impure motive. The LORD told Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage,” –Joshua 1:6a KJV. Nehemiah strengthened the hearts of the people to complete their God-given task with the words, “Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” –Nehemiah 4:14b KJV

Like the Israelites before battle were encouraged with the words, “Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in His sight,” (1 Chronicles 19:13 KJV) so we are involved in a spiritual battle and require regular rejuvenation from the Lord of Hosts (Lord of Armies) lest we grow battle weary, our hands hang limp, and the victories which God wanted to accomplish through us are not brought to their fullest realization. Such as Saul who commanded the men not to eat, and like King Joash who only struck the arrows three times to the great disappointment of Elisha, so it is possible for us to fail the Lord. But by His power it is also possible to please Him. May He be our cause of rejoicing, source of boldness and the One Who makes us stouthearted so that we can do what He wants us to do. Amen.

Please pray for the persecuted family. They have experienced some of the effects of y’all’s prayers and the prayers of others. There have been some developments in the court case being brought against them. Please persist in prayer for their health and needs. Thank you! Mr. Kussman, Mr. van Niekerk and my grandmother still need the Lord of the universe to become the Lord of their hearts. Lord-willing, Jan Harm and I are going in one direction (while Daniël and Jan are moving in another) and I join them on Wednesday. This is the week that our 5 ½-week 3 Horsepower Tour of southern Mpumalanga starts. (‘Mpumalanga’ has nothing to do with pumas.) Please join us in earnest prayer for the salvation of eternal souls during this time, and for journey mercies. The Lord really gave me many good appointments at schools and elsewhere in answer to prayer when I called the different towns to make arrangements for the tour; praise Him for that! And I truly appreciate your prayers for this =^D –Louis Gervais “I will bow down toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.” –Psalm 138:2-3
