The Sacrifice of Praise

A negative spirit so often prevails,

And following closely, discouragement trails.

But God, who is rich in his mercy and grace,

Has left us a marvelous pattern to trace.

And offer a sacrifice made of acclaim;

The fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name!

The devil destroys every Christian he can,

And negative thoughts are the heart of his plan,

But God has prescribed in the scripture a cure,

The remedy works and the outcome is sure.

A sacrifice offered of praise and acclaim,

The fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name!

If you would avoid all the snares that are laid,

And live without feelings of being afraid.

Then enter his gates with thanksgiving and praise,

Let gladness and singing fill all of your days,

And offer a sacrifice made of acclaim;

The fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name!
