True Faith - Martha Petrusevich

True Faith

When God comes to take His own,
His coming we cannot postpone.
He will come without delay,
To take his own, upon that day.

Yet, when he comes what will he find,
True servants, among mankind?
Will Christ find faith upon this earth?
Those who’ve had the second birth?

Those who conquered sin and strife,
Served the Lord with all their life?
Ones who loved their enemy,
Through pain their goal could see?

Who through trials, stood the test,
In this life they did their very best.
Ones who followed God’s Command,
Spread the gospel in every land.

Spreading words of blessed peace,
Worldly riches did not increase.
Evil for evil did not repay,
Willing their life for Christ to lay.

With love, conquering hate and wrong,
In their convictions standing strong.
Choosing peace instead of strife,
Willingly, laying down their life.

Choosing love instead of force,
Choosing his Kingdom to enforce.
Bearing pain, hurt, and agony…
Through it all, His entire plan could see.

Choosing peace instead of war,
They knew, what they were living for.
They knew, their body made of clay,
Would have to die some coming day.

Yet their soul would never die,
It was created for the sky.
For heaven and our glorious King
Where we could rejoice and sing.

Through persecution they didn’t waver,
Choosing to serve their loving Saviour.
Through pain and tears they followed God
Following the path that He once trod.
