Why the balloon has to pop - Roy Daniel

Why the balloon has to pop

I liken much of Christianity to a group of small children sitting in a room. They have just been told a large balloon would be popped soon. An adult stands with a sharp shiney pin outstreched close to the balloon. The children put there hands to their ears to avoid the sound hurting their eardrums. Interestingly ,the adult acts like a statue with the pin hovering next to the balloon and does … nothing. After a few moments some children think the balloon is not going to be popped. It hasn’t happened yet so why should it ? A few take their hands off their ears and start to talk. It starts with quiet chatter, but then later the whole room is full of children talking and swinging their hands with ease. Suddenly when no one seemed ready the Balloon was popped ! The kids screamed at the loud noise and some felt pain in their ear drums.

Oh how sad – the church of today. They are told Jesus is coming and that we should be ready so they get ready for a while like children initially holding their hands to their ears, but then … Jesus does not come, men carry on in sin seemingly unpunished, the world exists on and on while … Christians stop watching and waiting for the One that can come any day. They become complacent. They go to church, read a little Bible, hand out a tract here and there, but they are no longer as a Bride preparing for it’s groom or as the church preparing for it’s Saviour’s return. They do not have fervant love among each other, they fear men rather than God keeping quiet about what the Bible calls sin, they do not live to support God’s work ( unless their giving financially gets them the praise of men, or a part in the decision making of organisations i.e. power). There is no joy to give. They no longer strive to do projects for God to spread His truth ! In the very short time just before His coming they fill their lives with their plans and dreams forgetting the great commission and the lost treading daily toward Hell, they forget the Bible and they remember …entertainment.

Suddenly when no one seemed ready Jesus came. The Christian’s wept for they were not ready to meet the One who died for them.

1 Thes 5 : 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Math 24 : 43 But know this, that if the owner of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Math 2 : 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
