William Booth Text Sermons

William Booth, who lived from 1829 to 1912, was famous and revered as the founder of the Salvation Army who reached so many souls for the Kingdom of God. Booth’s early childhood was marked by poverty in Nottingham, England. As his father had died when he was but 14 years of age, he became a pawnbroker’s apprentice at that early age. He was saved at the age of 15 and right there and then he made a full surrender entering his diary the words ‘God shall have all there is of William Booth’. After listening to an American preacher, he and a group of friends started holding open air meetings every night. He was known for the lively tunes and short pithy addresses that reached the lost. He was afterwards ordained as a Methodist minister. He married Catherine Mumford in 1855, their united lives greatly used by God and still inspiring Christians today. There are many sought after writings of Booth which still impact Christians today as an incentive to pour our lives out fully for God’s use with the realization that God can redeem the most impossible cases!
