WITHOUT INJUSTICE – Louis Gervais

WITHOUT INJUSTICE

Hello and greetings in the Name of the Son of Him Who is Without Injustice, Jesus Christ!

“The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” –Deuteronomy 32:4

Does God detest injustice? He despises it! It is contrary to His character. The Lord hates the sin of injustice. All of us have suffered from some form of unfair treatment. And, to be honest, we have each at one point or another been unjust towards someone else, whether intentionally or not. But then you get those who are purposefully unfair—a despicable brood indeed. Especially evil in God’s sight is when an innocent person is treated like a guilty one. You can clearly see His attitude concerning this in the following verses: “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent—the LORD detests them both.” “It is not good to punish an innocent man, or to flog officials for their integrity.” –Proverbs 17:15, 26

“For everyone who does these things, everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God.” –Deuteronomy 25:16 . “For I, the LORD, love justice,” –Isaiah 61:8a . “You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, you have eaten the fruit of lies.” –Hosea 10:13a . “He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?” –Micah 6:8 . “But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.” –Luke 11:42

People think they can play games with God. Consider it! Even professing Christians take chances—in their thousands. We’re not going to get away with anything: “for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” –Romans 14:10c, 12 . “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,” –Ephesians 5:15

“The LORD is righteous within her; He will do no injustice. Every morning He brings His justice to light; He does not fail. But the unjust knows no shame.” –Zephaniah 3:5 . “It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice.” –Proverbs 18:5 . “You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.” –Leviticus 19:15

God is no respecter of persons. You have no right to sin; it doesn’t matter who you are. If King David was not excused—God’s anointed king—then why would we be? Sin is not acceptable conduct for a Christian even if your sins are atoned for through the blood of Christ. Would God ever want you to approve of sin in someone’s life? Oftentimes if we do not confront injustice we share in the guilt of it.
May we love what God loves and hate what He hates, and be painfully obedient to Christ until death like He was to the Father. Amen.

We can pray that Mr. Van Niekerk, Mr. Kussman and my grandmother are awakened from the spiritual darkness in which all of us once were. This week I drove around in my burly chariot fetching bread, milk and butter. I like to sing while I drive. No one’s around to complain. Furthermore, I got to attend the God-glorifying wedding of Elmar du Rand, my former teammate. Please pray for me; that I may dwell in the epicenter of God’s will for my life, albeit in the Refiner’s fire.

What shall be done to the man whom the Lord would exalt?
Let him be tread in God’s winepress to remove all fault.
Oh, tread me, Lord. Oh, break me, my God and Holy King,
Till nothing I withhold; till I’ve given everything,
Till Thy face I behold, till Thy thorough work is done!
That the pride may die and Thou remain the Only One.

“Now let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” –2 Chronicles 19:7
