It doesn’t matter what may come my way;
It doesn’t matter what the neighbors say;

It doesn’t matter what may come my way;
It doesn’t matter what the neighbors say;
It doesn’t matter what reproach I bear,
What other people think, or how they fare,
                           I cast my care on You.

It doesn’t matter that my frame is dust;
That I do battle both with pride and lust.
It doesn’t matter that my flesh is weak,
My faith is little, and my outlook bleak;
                           I cast my care on You.

It doesn’t matter that I’ve wept and prayed
T’ escape the burdens that on me are laid.
It doesn’t matter that my pain won’t cease,
That questions trouble me, and cares increase;
                           I cast my care on You.

It doesn’t matter that I’ve often erred;
And prayers so earnest seem to go unheard.
It doesn’t matter if I still have fears,
And my uncertain moods are bathed in tears;
                           I cast my care on You.

It doesn’t matter that I feel perplexed;
It doesn’t matter if my soul is vexed.
It doesn’t matter how my spirit ranks,
In everything I always can give thanks,
                           And cast my care on You.

It only matters that You care for me;
Your word is true, whatever I may be,
And all the things I cannot understand
I now surrender to Your mighty hand,
                           And cast my care on You.
