The Well of All Wells
If I draw from the well of my own shallow heart,
Then the blessings are few that I have to impart,
If I draw from the well of my own shallow heart,
Then the blessings are few that I have to impart,
But a fountain is flowing that never runs dry,
And from it I can fetch an eternal supply.
Living water is found in that well of all wells;
Every fear it casts out; every doubt it dispels.
If I drink from that fountain of life from above,
I will never need thirst, nor be lacking in love.
May the water that flows from that fountain so free,
Springing up in my belly and flowing from me,
Be a quencher of thirst in a drought-burdened place,
And the savour of Christ to the whole human race!
