The Roaring Lion

There’s no utopian path of ease
Where trials won’t be met;

There’s no utopian path of ease
Where trials won’t be met;
Where I can think the prize to seize
Without the lion’s threat.

The devil walks about to seek
For souls he may devour.
He preys on those whose faith is weak
And takes them in his power.

I can’t expect that I won’t face
The devil in his might,
But I can trust the God of grace
To give me strength to fight.

Resist the devil.  He will flee.
I do not need to hide.
By faith I have the victory,
And strength because I’m tried.

God lets me suffer for a while
And hear the lion’s roar,
To strengthen by the fiery trial
And stablish me the more.

To Him be glory, power, and praise
On whom my cares are cast;
He’s called me unto endless days
Of glory unsurpassed.

I Peter 5:7-11
