Though He Slay Me

The Christians in the dread arena
Faced death in many different ways.
Their bodies torn and cleft asunder,
Bestrewed with blood within those days.

Yet in the fires, they trusted in the covert
Of wings almighty covering them in love.
They did not doubt a loving God’s compassion,
Though tortured, slain, He ruled above.

I too may face the lions of Satan’s anger,
Where tongues will slay and opposition fell,
But I too trust that God is there beside me;
His wings my cover and thus ”all is well.”

“Though He slay me yet will I trust Him” Job 13:15
